COT Kick Off Event 2024
The 2023-2024 Citizens of Tomorrow (COT) Kickoff Meeting took place at the Oak Point Parks and Recreation Center on August 24th. Volunteers from across the area gathered to connect and set the tone for the upcoming year. The event began with final setup preparations and a chance for attendees to mingle and share ideas.
The program kicked off with departmental presentations, where each team shared their future goals and plans for the year ahead. These forward-looking summaries energized the group, fostering excitement and collaboration as attendees envisioned what the organization could achieve together.
After the presentations, attendees participated in engaging team-building activities. The first challenge was the Human Knot, which encouraged communication and problem-solving in a lighthearted and fun way. Participants stood shoulder-to-shoulder in a circle and reached across to grasp the hands of two others, forming a tangled "knot" of intertwined arms. The challenge was to untangle themselves into a complete circle without letting go of anyone’s hand. Laughter and creative strategies filled the room as team members worked together, strengthening bonds and showcasing the importance of collaboration and patience.
The meeting wrapped up with a group discussion where attendees shared their personal aspirations and how they aligned with the COT’s mission for the year. A group photo marked the end of the day, capturing the team’s enthusiasm and commitment as they prepared for the work ahead.
As the 2023-2024 year officially began, the COT community set its sights on collaboration and progress, ready to tackle the challenges and opportunities of the coming months.
